
John Belchamber my 11th GP was born in Northchapel d1550 he married Agnes Payne they had four children James, Sybil, Roger and Robert the youngest who was heir to his grandfather, Robert Payne. John made a will in 1550 leaving Agnes his wife as Executrix. Agnes died in 1561.

In the name of god amen the 30th day of may in the year of our Lord god 1582 and in the 23rd year of the reign of our sovereing Lady Elizabeth by grace of god queene of England France and Ireland defender of the faith I Margorie Belchamber widow of the parish of Petworth in the countie of Sussex sick in body but of hole and perfect mynd and memory thanks be given to god and therefore do ordainen and make this my last will and testament in manner and from as herewith / First I bequeath my soule unto Almightie god who graces me and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard at Northchapell / To the high church of Chichester.

This is the last will and testament of me John Belchamber of Wisborough Green in the county of Sussex,Shoemaker made this 26th day of February 1892.As follows after all my just debts,funeral and testamentary expenses shall have been paid and satisfied I give,bequeath and devise unto my dear wife Harriot all and every of my property,both rear and personal,to and for her own sole and also like use and benefit.And I appoint my said wife sole excutive and trustee of this my will.Provided never the less should my said wife die before me.I then devise all my personal estate and effects to George Drinkald Hammond of Amblehurst Farm Wisborough Green afore said upon trust todivide the same as soon as convenient mat be after my death,between my grandchildren and my son-in-law John Burberry share and share alike and I devise the house and premises belonging to the situate at Wisborough Green afore said also upon trust to the said George Drinkald Hammond to pay thereout yearly and every year the rent and profits arising there from,to my daughter Mary Ann and wife of John Burberry afore said and after the decease of my said daughter ,direct my said house and premises to be sold and the money arising there fom to be divided between my grandchildren and my son-in-law John Burberry share and share alike.In witness whereof I have set my hand the day and year above written.
